Tween and Teen Programs at the YMCA of Greenwich help build physical fitness and confidence and provide creative and educational opportunities to inspire and challenge young minds. Join us for a balanced approach to growth and development in a supportive community.

You qualify for Priority Registration if you meet both of the following requirements:

-You’re a member of the YMCA of Greenwich

-You enrolled in programs for the previous session

WELLNESS PROGRAMS

Non-Contact Boxing

Learn the fundamental of boxing technique and self-defense in our youth boxing classes. Improve strength, endurance, and athleticism while relieving stress and having fun. Mental toughness guaranteed.

This program is purchased on an individual class basis. 

11-15 Years

Tuesdays or Thursdays: 1:00PM – 2:00PM

Strength Training

Strength training is the foundation of health, athletic performance, and body building. Your progress is only as good as your technique, and in this 8-week program we will hone your lifting form to safely optimize your results in the gym.

This class is for total beginners to intermediate lifters. Our focus is on optimal form, workout programming, setting and achieving goals, and eating habits. The teenage years are the best time to start building a strong and healthy body. 

Choose Monday or Wednesday for your 8-week session. Sign up for all 8 consecutive weeks is required.

11-14 Years

Mondays or Wednesdays: 4:00PM-4:45PM

Non-Contact Boxing Open Gym

Class Included With Membership!

A limited opportunity for our youth to practice skills learned in their boxing classes or for those that simply want to punch the bag. In this hour a wellness associate will monitor the room to ensure safe usage is followed. This is not a structure workout, but rather an opportunity for our youth to access a typical adult only space. Bring your own gloves!

Drop in anytime within the hour. Stay the whole time or just some of it, it is your choice! Registration is recommended. Only open to members.

Youth Wellness Usage Updates

We are thrilled to announce some exciting changes to our wellness center offerings that will enhance the experience for our young members:

  • Boxing Loft: Youth (11+ years) will have open access to the Boxing Loft on Tuesdays from 4:30PM-5:30PM. Bring your own gloves! Drop in anytime within the hour. Registration required (scroll to the top of this page to find the registration link). Only open to members.
  • Wellness Room: Youth (12+ years) will have access to the Wellness Room on Weekdays from 3:00PM-6:00PM and on Weekends from 12:00PM-3:00PM.
  • Indoor Basketball Court: Youth (12+ years) will have specific open gym time in the Indoor Basketball Court on Weekdays from 2:45PM-4:45PM.

ART & ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

STEAM Lab

This dynamic class takes participants on a journey through the world of STEAM. In each session, participants will engage in hands-on, interactive activities in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.

8-10 Years

STEAM Lab: 8-10 Years

Tuesdays: 4:00PM – 5:15PM

Thursdays: 4:00PM – 5:15PM

11-13 Years

STEAM Lab: 11-13 Years

Tuesdays: 5:30PM – 6:45PM

Thursdays: 5:30PM – 6:45PM

Portfolio Art

Participants will learn about the materials, processes, and ideas used by artists and designers, and practice creating their own work. They also learn how to communicate their ideas about art and design, as well as develop their skills and showcase their work.

13+ Years

Saturday: 1:00PM – 3:00PM
