I hope this email finds you healthy and safe.

Updates this week include: App Updates, new Wellness Schedule Updates, Blood Pressure Screening returns and upcoming Mother’s Day events.

App Updates

  • Wellness Reservation Changes – As we continue to see favorable results in both positivity and vaccinations, all Wellness reservations are going to be updated to 55 minutes beginning May 1. You will be permitted to make back-to-back reservations but need to advise the Wellness Associate for transition purposes.
  • Application Maintenance Periods – In response to the multiple tickets we have opened with our App provider, they will be installing improvements to the App that will result in a better experience and enhanced stability of the App. They will be processing these improvements over several days in May during the wee hours of the morning.  On May 5, 11, and 17 between midnight and 1 AM, the Application will be closed. We hope that we see the improvements and appreciate your patience.

May Wellness Schedule Update

  • Spin Bikes Relocating to M1/M2 – Beginning May 1, we will be moving the Spin Bikes to M1/M2 on the second floor to provide greater flexibility in space utilization as well as having access to windows for greater ventilation.
  • Fit4Life goes Live – Class will be held Live at 10 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Check Schedule for further updates.

Blood Pressure Screening – With all that has happened over the last year, we should all be performing various health checks, including blood pressure. In yet another sign of returning to “normal”, free Blood Pressure testing returns on the first Friday of every month near the Front Desk from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM.  The service is provided courtesy of Greenwich Hospital.

Mother’s Day Events

  • McLaughlin Sip and Shop – do your Mother’s Day shopping (in store, phone or email) across the street from the Y at J. McLaughlin on Thursday, May 6 from 10 AM – 6 PM. A portion of the sales will benefit the Y.  Curbside pick-up and Mother’s Day gift wrapping are available. For further information or order placement, you can call 203-862-9777 or email stctgreenwich@jmclaughlin.com
  • Every Mother Counts (EMC) Swimming Fundraiser– On Saturday, May 8, there will be a swimming fundraiser throughout the day for an organization that focuses on maternal health needs of the most vulnerable. For every yard you pledge and swim, you will help raise funds for this important cause. You can register and/or pledge at https://26-2swim.com

Stay healthy and safe!
